Superb night, Real intimate club with a great line up. We where visitors from Manchester and the dance scene here is alive and kicking.
Probably I’m jaded from too many years in Berlin, but this club felt good but not great. The door is easy and polite enough and the sound system is not bad. The dancefloor is small and cramped, however, and the music on this night, while cleanly mixed, I felt lacked direction and development. The crowd is casual/grungy, and felt a bit older (many 30+) than other clubs, which I thought was pretty cool and made the atmosphere more relaxed. Lots of yapping on the dancefloor, though.
It is a small, familiar club. The staff at the door, the reception and the bar were really kind. The DJ played minimal techno, it was not that bad but the people were chatting so loud.... louder than the music played. That was a bit strange and completely different to German techno parties. Use the dance floor for dancing and the chillout area for talking! :)
