Before arriving into Lisbon for a layover, I had researched the eateries that were close to my hotel. The Gahana Indian Restaurant stood out and it did not disappoint! I was greeted warmly and invited to sit wherever I chose to. Once seated, my server was at my table promptly. After a quick appetizer, I was ready for the main meal - the Madras Chicken Curry, with fluffy white rice, 3 choices of sauce (from sweet to spicy hot) and very refreshing mojito. All I can say is that it was amazing!! Just take a look at my empty plate and you'll see! After my meal was done and the bill was paid, I was graciously allowed to linger and take some photos. One thing is for sure: the next time that I'm in Lisbon - and I will be back - I will be heading straight to Gahana!!! Thank you folks for a memorable 1st time in Lisbon!! Readers, if you're in this part of Lisbon (corner of R. do Mar Vermelho & Alameda dos Océanos), you should visit for an excellent dining experience!!

What a fantastic surprise! After enjoying seafood throughout our Portugal trip, we were ready for something different, and this restaurant exceeded every expectation. We’ve dined at many Indian restaurants across the United States, especially in New York and New Jersey, and this easily ranks among the very best. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The chicken Madras, lamb saag, chicken biryani, and all of the other chicken dishes were incredibly flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Every bite was delicious. The service was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere was warm, comfortable, and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal. If you’re looking for authentic, high-quality Indian cuisine, we highly recommend this restaurant. It was one of the best meals of our entire Portugal trip, and we’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Lisbon!
Had a great experience at Gahana Restaurant. The service from Ashmita was absolutely the best — very friendly and attentive throughout. The Samosa Chaat and Spicy Papadum were delicious, and the Piña Colada cocktail and Lassi were amazing as well. Everything was full of flavor and beautifully served. Highly recommended! 😊
We had a fantastic evening at Ghana Indian Restaurant! Everything was perfect from start to finish. A special shoutout goes to Asmita. She is an incredibly attentive and welcoming host! The evening started off great with 3 complimentary, delicious dips. If you're unsure what to order from the extensive menu, you are in the best hands with Asmita. She gives excellent recommendations, listens to your preferences, and helps you find the perfect dish. Her service is simply top-notch: every time a dish was ready, she served it lightning-fast. She notices every little detai, she even brought us toothpicks on her own without us even having to ask! That is truly proactive service. Most importantly, the food is just as amazing as her recommendations promised. It was absolutely fantastic, incredibly flavorful, and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back 😊
