Mi Dai

Lisbon

Look for the refrigerated counter to choose your meal from the fresh ingredients on display.

Mi Dai is a unique Chinese restaurant located at Calçada da Mouraria 7 in Lisboa. Nestled in the vibrant Martim Moniz area, it offers a distinctive dining experience that stands out from typical Chinese eateries. The restaurant is characterized by its straightforward approach to showcasing fresh ingredients, which are displayed in a refrigerated counter. This setup allows diners to see the variety of dishes available, each presented in aluminum trays. The selection includes a range of fresh produce and seafood, such as eggplant, cuttlefish, silver pomfret, and water spinach, all sourced from nearby Chinese supermarkets.

The interior of Mi Dai is simple and unadorned, focusing on the quality of the food rather than elaborate decor. There are no ornate dragons or plastic-covered chairs, and the absence of a traditional menu encourages a more interactive dining experience. Diners can choose from the fresh offerings on display, ensuring a meal that is both fresh and tailored to their tastes.

Mi Dai is well-suited for those who appreciate authentic Chinese cuisine and are open to exploring new flavors. Its location in the bustling Chinatown of Lisboa makes it a convenient stop for both locals and tourists seeking a genuine taste of Chinese culinary traditions. The restaurant's unassuming exterior and lack of signage may make it a bit challenging to find, but those who do will be rewarded with a memorable meal.

1. Fried rice: i like the fragrant pf the fried rice. I can smell the rice is cooked in high heat. 2. Fried dumplings: you need to combine the soy sauce and chili oil to dip in the dumplings. Juicy. I love the crispy part at the bottom. Chili oil spicy but delicious Cash only

No frills, cash only, Chinese restaurant. Family run. Large portions and very good value for money. Very delicious! Expect a standard Chinese restaurant in Asia service :)

CASH ONLY! …Sorry about the photo! We ordered the tofu and it was so good we had to get an additional order, but it was majorly gone before I could take a pic! Beware there’s no “Mi Dai” sign outside! But Google should bring you to the right place!
