Mimi, located at R. Rodrigues Sampaio 94C in Lisboa, offers a unique dining experience curated by Yakuza. This intimate venue is designed for just 30 guests, providing an immersive atmosphere where Japanese tradition meets contemporary culinary innovation. The restaurant's centerpiece is its omakase experience, a 12-course tasting menu that unfolds like a gastronomic performance. Each dish is crafted with precision and creativity by the skilled hands of Master Alex Hatano, blending the aesthetics of Japanese cuisine with the freshest ingredients sourced from the Portuguese coast.
In addition to the omakase, Mimi offers an à la carte menu for those who wish to explore a variety of flavors at their own pace. The menu changes daily, reflecting the availability of fresh and rare ingredients. Diners can expect to find a selection of seafood such as oysters, eels, and various fish species from the Algarve and the Azores, as well as delicacies like bluefin tuna, Japanese wagyu, and Norwegian scallops. The use of traditional Japanese binchotan charcoal for grilling adds a distinctive depth of flavor to the cooked dishes.
The setting at Mimi is both serene and sophisticated, making it suitable for those seeking a refined dining experience. The restaurant's minimalist design and attention to detail create an environment where the focus remains on the culinary artistry presented. Whether seated at the sushi bar or at a table, guests are treated to a dining journey that is both engaging and memorable.

It is definitely one of a hidden gem in Lisbon in terms of the great dining experience, service and the creativity. The restaurant only took us a few minutes from our hotel nearby and it was not easy to be found actually but we like these kind of low profile location outfit. This restaurant served with Japanese food with little bit fusion like style, but you can still taste some authentic Japanese cuisine like sushi, sashimi and cooked Japanese food! CP value showed throughout the whole omakase dinner menu with great service, counter seating is recommended so that you may talk with the chefs and they are more than happy to chat with you! For sure we will visit again if traveling in Lisbon next time🫶🏻
Some places serve sushi. This place serves care. Hidden in the rush of Lisbon, this omakase room manages to bring a quiet Japanese warmth into the city. Every piece felt thoughtful, precise and made with genuine love for the craft. The easygoingness of the chef and the calm atmosphere created a "dinner served by a friend" aura. For a couple of hours, Lisbon slowed down.
Mimi Omakaze, is another recently opened omakase restaurant. The experience is quite an anticlimax though. When one enters and is given the envelope with the mdnu, it promises to be an eclectic experience. However as the night progressed, the service began to falter. The delay between dishes was too long, and one has to constantly try to get the attention of the staff. For the price one pays, it was lacking.
There is nothing in our experience that wasn't plainly fabulous. Each piece of the menu was of extreme quality to the point I felt I had never "proper" toro in my life before. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time!!
One of the most memorable food experiences I had in Lisbon. We wanted to have local Portuguese fish in the style of Japanese omakase and this restaurant delivered! Service was extremely pleasant with Chef Nick being a wonderful host walking us through every dish. You can really feel his and his team’s passion for the food they were creating. Every bite was fresh, thoughtful, and well prepared. For the price, it was a really good deal. An incredible experience from start to finish.
