Recommend by our friend Tomas at the InterContinental Hotel. In the heart of one of Cascais’ liveliest streets, Sr. Manuel welcomes you with a big smile and genuine hospitality. We were given the perfect window table, enjoying both the atmosphere inside and the lively street outside. After some discussion about whether eating squid was still okay, the amazing staff helped us make the right decision, as you can see in the photo! Great food, excellent wine and wonderful service. Make sure to stop at Sr. Manuel and enjoy a fantastic dinner.
In my opinion, this is an average seafood restaurant. There was nothing truly exceptional. The menu offers a great variety, and all the seafood was fresh and of excellent quality. Personally, I believe that when seafood is the star of the dish, it shouldn’t be overshadowed by heavy sauces, mayonnaise, bread, or too many side ingredients. Sometimes, less is more. One thing I highly recommend is the passion fruit sangria - it is absolutely outstanding and easily the highlight of the meal!
The wait staff is attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable and accommodating of food allergies. The food was delicious and our family of four enjoyed ourselves greatly. We will for sure be coming back the next time we are in Cascais. Do yourself a favor and come and enjoy the food and chill atmosphere.
Sr. Manuel - Seafood Bar gave us one of the absolute best seafood experiences of our entire trip! We started with the seafood soup, which was incredibly fresh, packed with a rich, deep shrimp flavor, and loaded with plenty of seafood inside. For the mains, the squid with rice was a phenomenal combination—the squid was perfectly tender and tossed in a super tasty sauce. The seafood tagliatelle was equally amazing; the champagne and white wine sauce was incredibly flavorful and elevated the whole dish. We finished our meal with the Brazilian banana cake for dessert, which was exceptionally delicious and rounded out the flavor combinations perfectly. Exceptional food and amazing service—this place is highly recommended!
After a rainy day in Lisbon, we were happy to return to our homebase of Cascais and lucky enough to score a table at Sr Manuel‘s. This restaurant is part of a group of five on the same adorable street. My husband had a glass of Vino Verde, and I had a delicious sangria. we then had a lovely shrimp dish appetizer. For dinner, my husband had an outstanding braised tuna dish. The tuna was cooked perfectly, the sauce was amazing, and the vegetables were full of flavor. I had Vieiras e cogumelos silvestres num “à brás” trufado / Scallops and wild mushrooms in a truffle sabayon, which is a Portuguese dish typically made with cod, but this restaurant made it with scallops. It was absolutely outstanding, one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. We didn’t have room for dessert, but I’m sure it would have been amazing! Salvador was our server, and he was kind, helpful with the menu, and perfectly attentive. Fantastic, we will return!!
