Reviews
What a great experience. As a celiac clearly marked items, delicious food. The tawa fish was a great surprise. You can’t go wrong with the curries. The staff was polite and attentive. Highly recommend.
Ordered the pani puri, crispy mushrooms, Tawa fish, curry tiger prawn, goat curry, goan prawn, and garlic naan. Pani puri - crispy, nutty, with a sweet pomegranate finish 7.5/10 Crispy mushrooms - essentially sweet and sour chicken but with mushrooms. I could go without. Mushrooms were decent though. 6/10 Tawa fish - highlight of the night. Fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The fish was so moist and savory, every bite kept you coming back for more. Even with all the dishes we had ordered, we wanted to order another. 10/10 Curry tiger prawn - prawn a little over cooked and rubbery. Good flavor 7.5/10 Goat curry - meat was tender. Curry was good 8/10 Goan prawn - sweet and creamy. A little too sweet for me and wish it had a stronger curry aftertaste but my wife loved it. 8.5/10 Overall, great dining experience
Fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The restaurant itself is very well done, with a great atmosphere that makes it a wonderful place to enjoy a meal. The highlight for us was the service. The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. Their recommendations were excellent, and they struck the perfect balance of being helpful without being intrusive. A great combination of amazing food, exceptional service, and a lovely ambiance. Easily one of our favorite dining experiences in Lisbon, and we would happily return.
My boyfriend and I are usually quite adventurous when it comes to trying new restaurants, and we also tend to be fairly demanding when it comes to food quality. Whenever we travel abroad, we enjoy not only tasting the local traditional cuisine, but also exploring new types of food we have never experienced before. Tonight we chose to dine at The Oven in Lisbon, a restaurant serving traditional Nepalese and Indian cuisine. It turned out to be a wonderful discovery and a truly enjoyable experience. The restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide, and in my opinion it absolutely deserves that recognition. The food was exceptionally good—flavourful, well-balanced, and genuinely a pleasure to eat from start to finish. It was also fascinating to watch the chefs preparing the dishes in the traditional Nepalese oven that gives the restaurant its name, which adds a unique and authentic touch to the whole experience. Beyond the food itself, what truly makes this place special is the people. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind and welcoming. They also took the time to explain dishes we were unfamiliar with, which made the experience even more enjoyable and personal. Overall, it was such a great experience that if we ever return to Lisbon, we would definitely love to come back. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try something a bit different from their usual cuisine—but honestly, even those who are not actively looking for something new should give it a try, because the food is simply excellent. Thank you!
I visited Oven in Lisbon last week and was genuinely impressed. The food was outstanding. Every dish felt well balanced, with great flavour and texture. Nothing was too heavy or greasy, which you don’t always get with Indian cuisine. You can tell there’s real attention to detail in how everything is prepared. The service was just as strong. Friendly, attentive, and relaxed without being over the top. The atmosphere ties it all together. Stylish but still comfortable, making it a place where you actually want to stay and enjoy the evening.
