Description
The tour begins with hotel pickup around 8:00 AM for direct transfer to Pena Palace. Set on a 500-meter-high rock, Pena Palace combines Arabic and Manueline architectural elements, embodying Portuguese Romanticism and overlooking the Lisbon coast.
Next, visit Sintra’s historic center to walk its old streets and photograph key landmarks such as the National Palace of Sintra and the Moorish Castle. A short walking tour is included. You will have time for lunch or a snack, with the option to visit the renowned local pastry shop, Periquita.
Proceed to Quinta da Regaleira, a romantic estate created by António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro, notable for its symbolic architecture and mystical gardens. Stop for photos and explore its interiors.
The route continues past Seteais and Monserrate Palaces, completing a comprehensive visit to Sintra’s main palaces. Then, travel to Cabo da Roca, where cliffs rise 140 meters above the Atlantic Ocean, known as the place “where the land ends and the sea begins.”
Arrive in Cascais, a fishing village dating back to the 12th century that became a refuge for European nobility during the World Wars. Enjoy a walking tour along the bay to experience its historic charm and cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Return to Lisbon by following the coastline through Estoril and Carcavelos, admiring wide Atlantic beaches. The tour concludes with arrival back in Lisbon around 5:00 PM.
