This 60-minute workshop in Lisbon is ideal for anyone interested in learning the traditional Portuguese Majolica ceramic painting technique.

Description

Experience Portuguese ceramic history by painting your own tile in a relaxed setting surrounded by authentic historic tiles. The session starts with a hands-on introduction to the Majolica technique, including materials, process, and historical background to inspire your creation.

You will then paint two tiles using either freehand methods or stencils with designs based on 17th and 18th-century tiles, Pombaline patterns from Lisbon’s post-1755 earthquake rebuilding, or iconic motifs such as the Lisbon tram and Portuguese sardine.

Support is available throughout the session to answer questions and assist with techniques. After painting, the tiles are fired in a ceramic kiln and can be picked up in-store within 3 to 4 business days or shipped to your home for an additional fee starting at €35.
