We Designed this day trip including the visit of Palmela Castle, Setubal, Arrabida Mountain with fantastic panoramic views and experience of 2 vineyards. The objective is to provide you the best coverage of a region in the same day trip. This region just south of Lisbon has been very important for the economic development of Portugal. Having been an important stronghold during the Reconquista era it saw its main cities and Castles switch hands between Moorish and Portuguese several times. Becoming a bastion for the order of Santiago da Espada on the XIII century. Palmela Castle is such a stronghold. Situated atop of a hill we will be able to explore part of its walls, towers and main Church (closed on Mondays). The views obtained are breath taking. A truly impactful stop. Setubal is nowadays one of the main cities in the south of Portugal. Located on the mouth of the Sado river it has mostly been dedicated to fishing and subsequent activities, A city with a mountain, a river and the Atlantic. This entire region is also famous for the Moscato or Moscatel wine. A sort of wine that uses late stage crop grapes to produce a liqueur wine used as a dessert or appetizer. Using successful businesses we will be able to visit a mass production cellar that began just has a family business in the 18th and the other cellar is a smaller production area several steps behind the mass production, allowing some more pure experience. Besides the wine, this region is also famous for the Azeitao cheese, a buttery type of cheese made from sheep milk. Also the famous tiles of Azeitao and the pastries called Tortas de Azeitao.
