Description

Start with a pickup from your accommodation in Lisbon and drive to a little-known yet exceptional site: Cape Espichel. Between legends and untamed nature, enjoy the calm and vastness of the Atlantic Ocean stretching out before you. A few kilometers away is the medieval castle of Sesimbra. Take a short stroll and enjoy incredible views of the Serra da Arrabida, the port, and the village of Sesimbra. Next, head to the fishing village of Sesimbra. Take the time to enjoy its narrow streets, white houses, and large beach, Praia da Califórnia. Stop in Azeitao for lunch. The restaurant and the winery tour are closely linked as they are run by the same family. Savor traditional Portuguese dishes of excellent quality and a warm welcome. Tour the vineyard with a professional guide and enjoy a tasting. Then, hit the road to Évora, the largest city in the Alentejo region. In your free time, visit the Roman temple in the historic center, the Évora Cathedral, and the whitewashed houses that surround it. Have dinner on your own and spend the night in Évora. The next day, head to the town of Redondo, located 37 km from Evora. The morning will be devoted to a unique skill in Portugal, and particularly in this region: cork production. Portugal is the world's leading producer of cork and is home to 33% of the world's cork oak forests. During this visit, be welcomed by passionate people who will guide you for two hours. Visit the forests on foot or in a Land Rover. Enjoy lunch at the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation, a popular place to discover the region's culinary specialties. A few minutes from the restaurant is an exceptional winery. Discover the history of the family estate and taste some excellent wines. Finish your road trip with a few kilometers to Lisbon.
