Excellent seafood! Fabio was a great ambassador in serving our party of seven. Just run out of time and space to continue to eat.

Of so many eateries to pick from, this was our immediate choice. Nothing other than the promise of great fresh fish, expertly cooked over a BBQ pit. We were not disappointed. What a welcome, followed by true professional service and Portuguese charm. We were guided through the menu, and had a memorable lunch. Excellent wine list, we opted for a Casa Velha Douro 2023, delicious! A complementary glass of Port rounded off a most enjoyable meal.

Starting from the beginning, we were looking for something to eat after going with the cable car. We decided to go and see by the side what restaurants are opened and suitable for us to eat. Well we encountered with them, and for good. First they gave us a whole tour of the whole process and food, and then, while we did that tour, they gave us a table. Good, there the boss came (which together with a waiter both made a hats off impression) and helped us order, and we went for his recommendation while ordering. We ordered only traditional dishes and drinks which was exactly what we wanted to eat while in Portugal. Good, as I said, the boss and waiter, both were with us and literally showed us LIVE shrimps and literally showed us how fresh their food was, which was impressive, the waiter even came and showed us a whole 8 KG lobster in his hands and showed us how the lobster sleeps if he puts it on its head. This was a whole spectacle which I personally enjoyed to the max. Also to mention that the waiter give off his time to explain to us the origin of the cheese they have and drink I ordered and how they are prepared. At this point we weren't just customers, we were part of the Portuguese family. And finally, absolutely to mention, they closed, their timetable reached closing time. Everyone left, there were only us, and we thought we had to leave. When we asked them if we had to leave they simply replied: "don't worry, you can stay". I was left impressed. After we finished, they gave us a traditional dessert and a traditional Portuguese drink, Moscatel, to finish off everything. Everything, personally, felt rustic and, at this point we weren't only customers but friends. Fresh food, stunning hospitality (if you are looking for social communication and history) and rustic. Would definitely recommend, and give them a chance.
