Explore the highlights of Fatima, Aljustrel, Nazaré, and Óbidos on a day trip from Lisbon. Visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima, Aljustrel village where three young shepherds grooving, the giant waves of Nazaré, and the medieval town of Óbidos. Start your day with a pick-up from your hotel in Lisbon. Leave the city and head towards Fatima, which is about a 1.5 to 2-hour drive depending on traffic. Spend the morning exploring Fatima, one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world. Visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima, the Chapel of Apparitions, and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity. Take time to attend a mass if you're interested. After exploring Sanctuary of Fatima, head towards Aljustrel. The visit you are going to make will bring you into the atmosphere in which the little Shepherds lived. Drive to Nazaré, which is about a 40 to 50 minutes drive from Fatima. Take a brake for lunch in Nazare Beach Front where you can enjoy fresh fish. Spend the afternoon in Nazaré, a picturesque fishing village known for its beautiful beaches and giant waves. Visit the Praia do Norte viewpoint to see the famous Nazaré Canyon, where some of the largest waves in the world form. Leave Nazaré and head towards Óbidos. The drive takes about 30 to 40 minutes. Explore the charming medieval town of Óbidos, surrounded by ancient walls and cobblestone streets. Visit the Castle of Óbidos, walk along the town's fortified walls, and browse the shops selling local crafts and products. After exploring Óbidos, start your journey back to Lisbon. It's about a 1-hour drive from Óbidos to Lisbon, so you should arrive back in the city in the early evening.
