Description
Hi, my name is Gino. Join me on this Dutch walking tour through Lisbon. The best way to explore Lisbon is on foot. So lace up your walking shoes and dive into the city’s details. As you wander through its narrow streets, Gino will share stories about both Lisbon’s rich history and everyday local life. What to Expect A relaxed city walk of around 2.5 hours, where you'll discover the charm of Lisbon up close. Along the way, your guide shares stories about the city's past, its people, and daily life. You’ll walk in a small group and finish the tour in the lively Alfama district. The Route We start at the Luís de Camões square, right in the heart of Chiado. Here, your guide will introduce you to Portugal’s maritime past, the Age of Discoveries, and iconic figures like Vasco da Gama and, of course, Luís de Camões himself. Next, we visit the famous Café A Brasileira, where Fernando Pessoa greets us, and descend via the Santa Justa Lift into the Baixa district. Here you'll learn how the city was rebuilt after the great earthquake of 1755. After a short stop at what your guide claims is the best pastel de nata in town, we head uphill towards the São Jorge Castle. Don’t worry — Lisbon has plenty of tricks to make the climb easier! From there, we wander through the tight, medieval streets of Alfama, the oldest part of the city. Good to Know – Duration: approx. 2.5 hours – Language: Dutch – Bookable per person or as a private tour with your own group – Includes a stop for a pastel de nata – We finish in Alfama — a perfect spot to grab a bite or a drink afterwardsIncludes
