Don't miss dining al fresco on Cimas' terrace for a serene ocean view.

Perched elegantly along the Marginal, Cimas in Monte Estoril offers a quintessential taste of Portuguese culinary tradition. The restaurant, set in a historic chalet, provides a window to the stunning Atlantic Ocean and reflects a blend of classic and comfortable elegance. A distinct touch of historical intrigue surrounds it, as it was once a hub for wartime espionage, adding an element of mystery to your dining experience.

Cimas is known for its commitment to classic Portuguese gastronomy, with an array of meat and game dishes, including specialties like partridge and woodcock. The seafood offerings, sourced locally, echo the richness of the Portuguese coastline. For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert menu is a delightful journey, featuring classic flambeed items such as crepes Suzette, paired wonderfully with selections from their legendary wine cellar.

The interior setting of Cimas is both refined and welcoming, making it suitable for intimate dinners and gatherings alike. The decor exudes charm, enhanced by a grand fireplace that adds warmth to the dining room. In contrast, the outdoor terrace offers a more relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying your meal against the backdrop of a breathtaking seaside view. Despite its proximity to the bustling city of Lisbon, Cimas provides a tranquil escape with its serene ambiance and attentive yet discreet service.

Restaurants with this kind of history have very little to prove. The challenge is maintaining standards over time, and that’s exactly what Cimas continues to do. From the moment you arrive, there is a genuine sense of hospitality that has become increasingly rare. The service is discreet, attentive and highly professional, without ever feeling rehearsed or excessive. The atmosphere reflects the restaurant’s history and character, creating an experience that feels authentic rather than manufactured. The kitchen follows the same philosophy. Instead of chasing trends, it focuses on classic cuisine executed with confidence and consistency. The wine list is equally impressive and clearly reflects the same commitment to quality. The only point worth mentioning is the pricing, which places Cimas among the more expensive restaurants in Lisbon. Even so, there is a noticeable difference between paying for a fashionable concept and paying for decades of experience, professionalism and consistency. Cimas is a reminder that great hospitality never goes out of style.

Delicious classically cooked food with old fashioned service. So lovely to see the family owners coming over to chat to everyone too. You can really see the pride and love that the staff and owners have in this decades old restaurant
