We visited Dear Breakfast on July 22, 2026, and had a nice overall experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience feel light and enjoyable. We ordered two dishes and two drinks. I had the strawberry matcha, which was delicious and definitely one of the highlights of our visit. We also tried their famous Turkish eggs, but unfortunately, we only realized while eating that the dish was spicy. It just wasn’t to our taste, and we personally felt it was a bit overhyped. That said, it could simply be our preference—I’m sure many people would enjoy it. Overall, I’d say this is a good breakfast spot with a lovely atmosphere and excellent service. I’d definitely consider coming back to try some of their other dishes.

If you’re planning to explore Alfama or visit one of the famous viewpoints nearby, Dear Breakfast is a fantastic place to start your day. The location is perfect, and the atmosphere matches the charm of the neighborhood. We tried two different Eggs Benedict dishes, and both were absolutely delicious. The ingredients tasted fresh, the portions were generous, and everything was beautifully presented. Their coffee was excellent, and the matcha was surprisingly good as well. One of the things I loved most about this place was the setting. The interior is stylish, cozy, and full of character, making it a great spot to relax for a while. On sunny days, you can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful surroundings while watching the neighborhood come to life. The staff were friendly, the service was great, and the overall experience felt relaxed and welcoming. Lisbon has plenty of brunch spots, but Dear Breakfast stands out thanks to its quality food, great drinks, and excellent location. If you’re spending time in Alfama, this is definitely a place worth adding to your itinerary.

Popular Brunch-spot for a reason 🍴 The location next to the museu de lisboa and the cathedral & the lovely outdoor seating area are already a big plus point. You can enjoy your breakfast while (when lucky) sitting in the sun & enjoying the lively streets. 🌞 We didn’t have to wait long for a table but the service was overall a bit slow. It’s understandable, given how busy the place was. Both of our dishes were absolutely delicious! Especially the pistachio-caramel pancakes with banana 🤤 — they were heavenly! You can also easily substitute or omit ingredients in the dishes. Worth a visit

Had a really disappointing experience here. The place feels overhyped from TikTok. Their strawberry matcha was delicious, but the food itself was pretty mid. The salmon did not taste fresh. The main reason for the low rating is the service. We made a reservation knowing it would be busy and were sat within 10 mins of checking. We understood there would be a wait since we came during peak hours, but after about an hour of waiting after ordering, we noticed people who arrived after us were already getting and finishing their food. We had to tell multiple servers that we still hadn’t received our order because staff kept changing shifts or going on break before resolving the issue. Eventually, one server informed us that our order had never been rung in and that it was their mistake. What bothered me most was how the situation was handled afterward. The manager (man with long hair) was actually the one who originally took our order, yet he never came by to apologize personally. Instead, an employee apologized on his behalf, and they only comped some of our drinks rather than the food after such a long wait and inconvenience.

One of my favorite breakfast places in Lisbon, went to one of their other locations when I visited a few years ago and it was just as good. AVOID THE MATCHA. It is a terrible almost khaki color HOWEVER the staff were quick to change it when I said I didn’t like it and replaced it with a different hot drink :) Overall I’d really recommend, this location was also a little quieter than some of their others which was nice and I was able to get a walk in table.
