An absolutely unforgettable dining experience. We visited with our baby — a bit of a risk, we’ll admit — but the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or accommodating. We stepped outside briefly when needed, and every time we returned we were met with warmth and zero fuss. That kind of hospitality at this level genuinely means the world to new parents. The food was simply fantastic, and the atmosphere was everything you’d hope for from a Michelin-starred restaurant. We were only in Lisbon for a few nights, and I’m so glad we made this one of them. Highly recommend — baby and all! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A+, 10 out of 10, five stars! My wife and I had the best meal of our lives at Sála de Joao Sá. We’ve been to Michelin star restaurants in the US, Spain, Japan, Brazil, and Korea but this was the best of them all. Every bite was amazing. The creativity and quality of the ingredients stood out. Our servers took excellent care of us, all were friendly and knowledgeable and kind, particularly Thais who was from Brazil and knew all of the ingredient names in Portuguese and English (maybe more?) and was so friendly and took the time to explain everything to us. We had the new textures meal which was so much food and included a few surprise dishes and snacks. My favorite was the octopus rice, my wife loved the eel. But honestly every dish was perfection. Wonderful experience.

The most incredible Michelin star experience for my birthday. Staff were so friendly, engaging, and kind. Food was out of this world. My favorites included the surprise snacks, brown butter, eel stew, chocolate truffle, and finally the octopus took the crown. I’ll be honest, I was not a big fan of the cuttlefish texture, but it was cool to try! Highly highly recommend visiting!

We chose the full experience menu with the wine pairing, and the evening was simply outstanding. From the very first moment, we felt genuinely taken care of: the sommelier with her calm confidence and excellent intuition, the director present, attentive and welcoming, and the entire service team professional, warm and effortlessly precise. It’s clear that everyone here truly loves what they do. The wine pairing was beautifully curated and elevated each course without ever overpowering it. And then the kitchen — absolutely wonderful. Precise, bold and full of flavor, showcasing seafood at a level that impresses without ever feeling pretentious. Every course was thoughtful, balanced and deeply satisfying. The value for money is truly excellent for the overall experience. Yes, you absolutely need to love seafood — but that is exactly why you come here. For us, it was a memorable evening from start to finish, and one we will gladly repeat.

Our dinner was excellent. We went with the eight course option. Highlights are the lobster and tuna courses, and the octopus course, which was the best octopus preparation we’ve ever had. The desserts were also really fantastic. We can’t recommend the wine pairing enough. Very thoughtful and outstandingly complementary choices that enhanced every dish. We left with a newfound appreciation for Portuguese wine. Service was sharp and precise with a subtle sense of humor. The stories behind each dish were interesting and added to the experience. Very happy to have had this experience.
