Description

Embark on a full-day tour of Fatima, Óbidos, Batalha, and Nazaré from Lisbon. After pickup from your hotel, travel in an 8-seat, air-conditioned vehicle to the Fatima Sanctuary, where you'll learn about the miraculous apparition of the Virgin Mary to local shepherd children in 1917. Next, you'll visit the Batalha Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Europe's most captivating Gothic monuments. The Monastery was built by King John I of Portugal as a symbol of gratitude to the Virgin Mary for her role in the victory against Spanish troops in the battle of Aljubarrota in 1385. After a delicious lunch, visit the clifftop village of Sítio in Nazaré. From the high cliffs, admire breathtaking views of the region and learn about the legend of Nossa Senhora da Nazaré, a statue of Our Lady that is one of the oldest pieces of Christian art. The tour concludes with a visit to the charming and romantic village of Óbidos. Explore this medieval town known for its winding streets, castle walls, and handmade crafts.
