Description

This sightseeing excursion begins with a hotel pick-up where you will board a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and head towards Lisbon's top tourist attractions. Your first stop will be at Eduardo VII Park, the largest park in the central area of Lisbon, named in honor of King Edward VII of Great Britain who visited the city to strengthen the friendship between the two countries. Next, you will visit Rossio and Avenue da Liberdade before stopping at the Lisbon Cathedral (Sé de Lisboa), a haunting 12th-century structure that resembles Notre Dame in Paris. Your knowledgeable guide will provide a historical overview of the city before you take in breathtaking views from a viewpoint. You will then travel through the medieval streets of Alfama, Lisbon's oldest district, and immerse yourself in the bustling atmosphere of the downtown area. In Belem, you will see the Jerónimos Monastery, Belem Tower, and the Monument to the Discoveries. You will have a short break at the famous Pasteis de Belem pastry shop, established in 1834, where you can taste the famous Pastel de Belém, a local pastry with cinnamon, along with traditional Portuguese coffee. Next, you will travel to Cascais, a picturesque beach town north of Lisbon, and take advantage of the opportunity to take stunning photos at the enchanting grotto at Hell's Mouth (Boca do Inferno) and the sheer cliffs of Cape Roca (Cabo da Roca). Finally, you will visit Sintra and see the former summer residence of the Portuguese monarchy, the famous Pena Palace. You will admire breathtaking views and stunning scenery as you drive through the Sintra Natural Park, and visit the Pena Palace at the top of the mountain. After exploring the palace, you will have some free time to wander around Sintra at your leisure. When you have seen enough, your guide will drop you off back at your Lisbon hotel.
