Top Rated - Restaurants in Lisbon

When you’re looking for the best restaurants in Lisbon, it helps to know which ones really deliver, not just the ones with flashy marketing. These places have earned their top rated spots because of strong ratings from lots of real visitors, not just a handful of five stars. It’s the consistency people appreciate, whether in Alfama’s cosy corners or in the newer spots around Cais do Sodré.

Ratings come from diners who’ve tried dishes across seasons, from light springtime meals to heartier winter fare. One thing I’ve learned over the years: booking ahead can make a big difference, especially in summer when tourists fill the city. Also, don’t be afraid to ask locals or servers for suggestions off the menu, many of these top rated restaurants have daily specials that don’t even make the review sites but are really worth trying.

Local dining tip

If you want to try one of these highly rated restaurants and avoid the busiest times, head out for an early dinner , in Lisbon that’s often around 7 pm. Many locals eat later, so going early means a better chance of a quieter table and more relaxed service. Also, look out for lunch menus. Lots of top spots offer a fixed-price lunch that includes multiple courses and gives you a great overview of their cooking without breaking the bank.
